“Adulting” has become a huge part of my life in the last few years! Since I have finished school and no longer live that same life I did a few years ago. I have responsibilities, a job, and bills! A lot of you can probably relate to this. Whether you are moved out, saving for school, or living at home; you probably are just trying to make it day by day! In some way or another “adulting” is part of your life and here are a few tips on how to make this “adult-life” easier!
Do your chores!
Yes, chores are now an everyday thing you gotta do. It sucks, but who wants to live like a slob? Your house does not need to look perfect everyday all day, but yes you need to do dishes, laundry and then put that laundry away. Not everyday will be success and somedays the dishes may not get done but the days you come home to a clean house are the best!
Stay On Top Of Money
Money will make or break you! Whether you are living on your own or with your parents, money is the biggest thing to watch, budget, and save. It is in no way easy, let me tell you; but it will make life easier. For example, if you have no money you will not be able to pay your phone bill, rent or buy food etc. Who wants to go hungry or have no phone because of bad spending?
“If you don’t got it, don’t spend it!”
Find A Routine
Now that you no longer have school to go to everyday, you have a lot more time on your hands to do what ever you want. It’s a pretty big change and for me and finding a routine was a huge obstacle! If I don’t know where I am going or what I am doing, I go crazy and lose focus! Finding a routine has so many benefits mentally and physically. When you have a routine you have time and can take care of yourself!
Learn To Grocery Shop
Whether you have moved out or not, you probably have found your self wondering the aisles of the grocery store with no idea what to buy, or what your even doing! Grocery shopping can be quite intimidating when you first start out. What works for me is always planning ahead, know what you need and make a list! Going to the store with out a list, leads to buying random stuff and two days latter not knowing whats for dinner! Having a list also helps to keep you on a budget witch will help stay on top of money!
Have A Bed Time
This is by far the hardest on the list! Who wants to have a bed time? Trust me it helps! When I have a bed time, it can make a drastic change in my days! I am not tired, have more energy, and find I am more motivated and organized! It’s not something I am perfect at but when I have a good week of going to bed at 9:30pm I always notice the difference! The bedtime is always up to you! Find what works and try to stay away from the Netflix!
Being on a routine helps you go to bed at a good time, and you need sleep to be organized, which helps you grocery shop better, so you save money! All of these tips go hand in hand. You maybe don’t need any of these or maybe they will all work for you! Wherever you may be in your life, know that not everyday will be perfect and adulating is hard! You won’t be a rockstar over night, it is a work in progress!
