Hey friends! Depending on where you are in the world it might already be summer. However, for us here in northern BC, Canada we are just about to come out of spring. For the lucky people that would mean sitting on the beach or surfing. For us, it means BBQ season! Now I know that I didn’t cook these ones on the barbecue but that was only because of the torrential downpour happening in our backyard. Turkey burgers have become one of our favourite summer time snacks since we were introduced to them at the beginning of last summer! I found the recipe on Pinterest and gave it my own special twist, then decided to give it a try! The appeal is that they are relatively healthy and extremely tasty!
– 1 Package Lean Ground Turkey
– 3/4 Cup Grated Zucchini
– 1/3 Cup Feta Cheese
– 1/4 Cup Chopped Onion
– 2 Garlic Gloves Minced
– 1/2 Teaspoon Lemon Juice
– 3/4 Teaspoon Black Pepper
– 3/4 Teaspoon Salt
Here is the recipe! It usually only takes about 20 mins of prep and 10 minutes of cook time! Follow the directions below and you could be indulging in a dinner that is so good it will make you feel guilty!
– Pre heat pan or BBQ to medium heat
– Grate the zucchini then squeeze out the moisture
– Place all ingredients in a large bowl and mix together
– Divide into 6 equal patties
– Cook the burgers on medium heat till no longer pink in the middle ( about 5 minutes each side )
We don’t often eat these patties with buns but pair them with a quinoa rice mix! A bit of a healthier option! We also love to top them off with a dollop of Tztziki, can’t go wrong with a greek flavour! For a side dish you can fry up the left over zucchini with some other veggies and spice to taste! Overall a great summer dish for the whole family!
