When planning a trip to Disneyland people often get very overwhelmed. It’s something thats very normal and almost everyone goes through when planning any kind of trip. Since I just got back from my Disney vacay ( read all about it here ) I thought I’d share some do’s and don’ts that might help you out!
I’ll start out with one of my most important don’ts when it comes to Disney! It’s something simple that can take your trip from stressful and scary to calm and relaxed!
Don’t stress if you miss something!
For most people going to Disneyland is a once in a life time thing. It’s in no way a cheap trip and for most people it’s also a very stressful trip. You hear so much before you go about what you must see, do and eat that you over think and plan out every minute of your trip. Well think of it this way… If you don’t see, eat or do something do you really know what your missing? No you don’t, so take Disney at your own speed and yes maybe you’ll miss Pirates Of The Caribbean or not eat that new limited edition churrro, but will you really know what your missing? Take the stress off and do what works for you and your family!
Do take advantage of the Fast Passes!
In that last few year Disneyland has gotten much busier, which leads to longer lineups. For most Disney visitors, waiting in a line longer than thirty minutes isn’t really for them or worth the time. So… Fast Passes are a quick trick to help skip the lines and make your trip that much better!
Don’t arrive at the park hungry!
This tip is a great one for first time Disney visitors. When you arrive at the park you now have to wait in the security line along with sometimes a line to get into the gate. Like I said, coming hungry may not be the best idea as there is no food close to the line. Along with this you might see something you want to do as soon as you get into the park so you don’t want to have to miss out on that by trying to find food!
Do try out pin trading!
This is a super fun activity Disney offers that’s for the whole family! A few trips back we tried pin trading out and had so much fun! All you do is buy a lanyard with some pins from one of the Disney stores and run around the park trading pins with different cast members. The best part is you not only have a blast doing this but you take home all these fun souvenirs that have a story!
Don’t expect the whole day or trip to be magical
Some times we have lows just like we have highs, so don’t expect your trip to be any different. Yes Disney is a magical place but sometimes we do get hangry, or get into a bad mood and thats okay. Whether you or someone in your party has a moment, don’t let it affect you or wreck your trip!
Do take advantage of the shows and parades
This is a great tip because not only does it get something fun into the agenda but it also allows you to have down time. For our family a little down time is always needed and what’s a better way then relaxing while watching a day parade or a Disney show?
Do get the Disney App!!!
This was a life saver! You can quickly check wait times, where the closest bathroom is and what restaurants are near you. We found this app to be very helpful and we used it all day, everyday! It was a real efficiency tool when it came to planning fast, which rides we should fast pass and which ones we were going to bite the bullet and wait in line.
Now I’m not saying that I’m the master of Disneyland, but I do like to help others out and share what works for me and my family! Since times are changing and the park is getting busier by the day, every little thing helps! It will always be “The Happiest Place on Earth,” to us and we look forward to going back in the next few years! Hey you never know, maybe next time we will have an addition to our family!
If you feel there is something I should know or things that have worked for you, please let me know! I always love to learn knew tips and tricks!
