I am back to give you an update on my Weight Loss Journey! Last month I shared with you guys how it was time I kick the extra weight to the curb! It was a raw, honest post that I was a bit nervous to share but right away I noticed how it was a huge hit and you guys seemed to love it, and could really relate! So I am back to tell you how August went, what I learned, and what I am going to change and work on this month!
Weight Loss: -5LBS
Well, not exactly where I wanted to be but August was not great! I had two weekends where burgers and junk got the best of me. It made me feel awful and honestly eating that burger was not worth wrecking all the hard work, so lesson learned there!
I also learned that I need to be prepared when It comes to meals! The days that we didn’t have planned out, we ended up just eating what ever or running to grab food. When you are trying to loss weight that is never good! So this month I am going to work more on meal prep and planning!
For September I am also going to work on adding exercise to the daily agenda! I really just focussed on getting my eating down and figuring out what works for me last month. So it is time to get my butt in gear and start sweating it out! I have tried the 21 Day Fix videos before and found they seemed to work and tone me up pretty fast. I do get bored of them so I am going to try and work out an exercise rotation that I will share with you next month.
Even though I only lost 5 pounds, I can totally see a difference. I am not as bloated and puffy, also my clothing is starting to fit different. If just losing five pounds makes that much of a difference, I can’t wait to see what ten or fifteen pounds brings!
What I have Been Eating
Many people last month requested what I was planning on eating and if I had a meal plan. As of right now I don’t really have a meal plan but I have some things that have worked for me and might work for you! Being a simple eater makes it hard because many meal plans you find online are weird and not my kind of food! This means I had to get creative and use the foods I already like eating when creating my 1200 calorie a day meal plan! I am trying to stay around 1200 – 1300 calories a day as recommended to lose weight!
I am not a huge breakfast eater nor do I have much time in the morning before work to eat breakfast so I just have an icecap or smoothie to be my quick easy filler. I try and stay near 200 – 300 calories and nothing too big.
For my lunches I have been making little snack packs of meat, cheese and usually a fruit or veggie. With my lunch I try and stay near 300 – 400 calories!
Not everyday do I have an afternoon snack but if I do I will have fruit or veggies, simple, and healthy. I always stay under 100 calories as well.
Dinner can be hard especially if you live in a house like me where everyone loves pasta, bread and carbs! I have kept dinner very simple with a chicken breast and salad! I have a few different salads I will make so I don’t get bored and end up eating the carbs everyone else is! Once in a while will have 1/2 cup of rice with my chicken but I feel I get a better bang for my buck with salad! Sometimes I do mix it up and eat steak or what ever everyone else is having but only in moderation! With dinner I try and stick to around 400 – 500 calories for this meal!
This is a must for me! I don’t know why but if I don’t have a snack before bed I end up getting hungry and eating everything thats not nailed down! Lately I have had either a hot chocolate drink or a fruit! Simple, easy and not too big, I will also stay around 100 calories for this one too!
My daily food is not very exciting but the last two weeks it has really been working for me! If you are wanting a little more detail or recipes just let me know and I am always happy to help! Or if you have any other great snacks or recipes fell free to share!
The last month has definitely been challenging, however just losing the five pounds has made a huge difference. Every morning I can’t wait to get on the scale and see where I am at. No not everyday is perfect and sometimes I have that ice cream, but as long as it’s not everyday and you still make moves towards bettering yourself thats all that matters!
Next month I hope to lose another five pounds or maybe even more! I would love to hear what your next goal is and how you plan on getting there. I also want to say thank you to all the lovely people who shared some great tips last month and made writing this segment that much easier!
Stay tuned for next months weight loss update!
