The Days Before!
Our party arrived at the Fairmont Orchid late at night, but that didn’t stop them from still making sure everything was perfect! Everyone had a very seamless check-in along with a Hawaiian escort to our rooms! Kyle and I were pleasantly surprised to arrive at our room to find light pink Macaroons, our itinerary for the week, and a lovely note from Mew! My parents also received a lovely note and a treat of their own!
Two days before the wedding we met with Mew to go over details! We talked about how the day would go, what to expect and if we had any questions! She also took us over and walked through the different locations with us! It was nice to be reassured and know what was going on! We also gave her the wedding favours, the welcome table decor, cake toper and chair signs.
Mew gave out the most positive energy and made us feel at ease! We knew she would make the day effortless and absolutely seamless!
The day before the wedding we had to meet up with the marriage lady to sign some papers! We drove right to her house and it was a quick and easy process!
Now For The Big Day !
Our wake up call was bright and early that day! Kyle and the boys were headed for a round of morning golf on the North Course and us girls were having a relaxing day around the hotel.
Alli, Mom and I had breakfast in Mom’s room that morning! Funny enough, Alli and I ended up knocking on the wrong persons door at 7:30 in the morning and waking this random guy up… he did not look very impressed with us giggling girls at his door! After that incident, we found the right room and walked over to Browns Deli to get my all time favourite sticky bun and ice tea! The morning was very relaxing.
After breakfast we headed to the spa to get all pampered up and get our hair done! The three ladies that helped us were so great and definitely worked their magic! We had plenty of laughs, smiles, and many memories were made!
We spent the rest of the morning and afternoon in my room. It was the best place since it had a gorgeous view, all my makeup there, and the boys already had their stuff in moms room! Auntie C and Lizzy joined us for room service pizza and all the fun we had getting ready!
Makeup is kind of my thing. Okay fine… Makeup is absolutely my thing! I don’t really trust very many people to do my makeup, I opted to spend the afternoon doing mine and everyone else’s makeup! It was actually a great way to keep busy and keep my excitement down!
The afternoon was one of my favourite parts of the day! I got to spend some very good quality time with my bride tribe! We took our time, got ready and just soaked up every moment! The bouquet was later delivered to the room around 2:30 pm! We finished getting ready before Chris the photographer showed up at 3:00 pm!
Since the ceremony wasn’t till 4:30, we had plenty of time to get some beautiful shots of us girls! Then we got him to run down and capture some of the boys getting ready too! Not as exciting but still a crucial part of the day!
Kyle and I decided very early on that we wanted to do a reveal. We knew that the moment when we first saw each other was something we would both cherish! The walk to the ceremony location is quite long and we thought that the first look moment might not be there or be the same. For that reason we agreed to not risk missing that moment!
We discussed with Mew where the perfect location to do the reveal would be! She recommend this beautiful walkway by a waterfall that was extremely romantic and private! I can honestly say that Kyle and I are so glad we chose to do a first look and highly recommend it! It was one moment we both will never forget!
After the reveal Kyle and I walked with Alli and mom to meet up with my Dad! Seeing my Dad for the first time was definitely emotional because I am and always will be his little girl! My mom, still to this day says that moment was her favourite part and that she still cries every time she thinks about it!
After meeting up with Dad we all walked with Mew to meet up with our officiant A.J! He gave us a quick run down on what would play out and asked if we had any questions! Then he walked with Kyle to the arch and everybody got ready for me to arrive!
It took a bit for us to walk down since Mew was trying to get snorkelers out of the water! She was very good about not wanting our photos to be wrecked! After that we got the signal to walk, away Dad and I went!
Kyle and I went with a really simple ceremony! We didn’t want anything to crazy and or anything too big or too long! So we exchanged our vows that no, we did not write and now here we are! All married up!
After the ceremony we signed our papers with A.J. and let the fun begin! Right away Kyle and I ran over to check out our reception areas before starting photos! We wanted to make sure we saw everything before people were starting to sit down! Boy was it ever so perfect!
We grabbed a drink and started photos! Kyle and I made sure to take photos with all of our guest! We also managed to get some gorgeous shots of just us too! I will say, I might have focused more on taking photos of just Kyle and I with the photographer and getting family ones done on someone else’s camera! But oh well!
Now that photos are done, it’s time to eat! The food… oh gosh it was sooooo delicious and everything we could have imagined it to be! The Fairmont Orchid has some of the best food I have ever eaten and we all know I love me some food!
After dinner we cut the cake, enjoyed some S’mores on the beach and just celebrated the day! The night eneded around 9:30 pm with a splash! Alli and Auntie C jumped in the ocean, dresses on, hair done and away they went!
As we waked back to the hotel our song was playing at the restaurant and it just made the whole night that much more magical! I am so glad we decided to say I do at one of the most beautiful locations in the world!
